David J. Ahr, M.D.
Dr. David J. Ahr is board certified in internal medicine and hematology and is a consulting associate in the department of medicine at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Ahr began his hematology and medical oncology practice in West Palm Beach, Florida, in 1976 and maintains a special interest in blood coagulation disorders and transfusion medicine.
Previously, he was past chairman of the medical staff, vice-chief of staff and director of the division of medicine at Good Samaritan Medical Center. He is an active member of the American Association of Blood Banks, Florida Association of Blood Banks, American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Florida Society of Clinical Oncologist, and is a founding member of the Southern Association for Oncology. Dr. Ahr is a graduate of Holy Cross College in Worcester, Massachusetts, and Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C.
He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the United States Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, and his fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He then directed the Coagulation Research Laboratory at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, also in Washington, before coming to West Palm Beach.
